For those people who are new the computer world and more importantly are first time owners of an LCD screen may think you simply buy a cleaner and clean the screen but for those of us who have LCD screens know better. You can’t pick any old cleaner and then use any old cloth with it. There are many different types of cleaners on the market.

How do you choose the handyman. You can try Clean Dr, Monster iClean or Klear Screen. If you choose a home made remedy then try this special at home cleaner. The cleaner should include distilled water and 70 percent Isopropyl alcohol. If you wish to save money then you can do this mixture yourself.

Take the Isopropyl alcohol and the distilled water, do a 50-50 mixture and pour the solution in a spray bottle. Never use tap water on your LCD, when you use tap water it will leave horrible smears and streaks on your screen. Tap water has minerals and particles that are naturally found in the water so when you use distilled water these particles are already removed.

Never use napkins or paper towels on your screen it could leave scratches. Go to the computer retail store such as Staples or Best Buy and purchase a soft micro fiber cloth/ Make sure before you begin that your LCD is off. Taking the mixture or the LCD cleaner and spray a generous amount on the cloth, never spray the screen directly. Using the cloth wipe the screen in the same direction , generally most people use a top to bottom motion for the best results. Wait a few minutes until dry and then you can turn on the screen.

The goal is to get a screen that is clean and streak or smudge proof. As a recap, never use paper towels on an LCD screen and never spray the cleaner directly on the screen. Make sure that the screen is off while cleaning. Depending on how dirty the screen gets and where the screen is located clean accordingly, you can never clean too much.
