Canoeing on Elkhorn Creek

So, I asked, “What’s for supper?”, to that the response was “Spaghetti” ;.Today, I’m thinking and then I said it, “I never had spaghetti on a hiking journey before”, working she’d some secret over at this website way of making it within the campfire. Well, she didn’t. Her plan was that she had a huge stockpot to boil water and a few skillets to make the hamburger/canned sauce in.

However, it’s difficult to stability a large skillet of boiling water on a round log that’s flaming, (since she didn’t provide almost any grill to set it on). Therefore I practiced the old pie of flaming logs technique, collection it on the website and stayed back. It did function although barely. Anywho….don’t ever make spaghetti on a camping journey, particularly if you have neglected to bring the plates and forks.

Lunch 24 hours later on the move was sandwiches. I still had Pringles and Little Debbie’s within my bag. Obviously after the previous nights fiasco with the spaghetti I’d properly stashed some in the tent for later. Good thing too, because, after the water kayak move,

the morning food was to find a stick and grill hotdogs and bratwurst on the campfire. Today this is more want it when camping. However, when teenagers are included, this is anything that actually must be thought through, since teenagers may be therefore inconsiderate many times. Guess what? Young kids may eat 5-8 hot dogs or bratwurst each, and maybe not treatment if you can find any remaining for the people, which can be what they did.

So meal for the adults will have to be smores, even as we did have two boxes of graham cookies and the chocolate and marshmallows hadn’t melted in the heat. Effectively, we THOUGHT we’d two boxes. But, the young kids had eaten among the containers while they were looking forward to the spaghetti to have finished the prior night, since, “we were starving” ;.I was also, I could not wait to get within my tent and have the most common Pringles and Little Debbies for dinner.
