Operating a Mobile Publicity Unit For a Franchising Company

Most people that observe the franchising industry see lots of plastic signs on franchise outlets which dot the landscape, and they see the big brand names, which are owned by the franchisors. Indeed, they also know they are on occasion customers, clients, and consumers of the goods and services which these franchising companies produce and their franchisees sell. But there is a lot more to building up a franchising company, and making a brand name strong enough so that people are actually driven to the franchise outlets, and compelled to shop in the stores.

All good franchisors have mobile team publicity units, participate in public relations, and go to large events so their brand name can be seen by hundreds, thousands, or even hundreds of thousands of people. You will see franchise company mobile publicity units at air shows, NASCAR, and other huge public events. It behooves them to get their name in front of you, and it reinforces their brand name with each impression and time that you see it.

Before retirement, I ran a franchising company and we did a lot of PR, and we had mobile Publicity units that we would take on-site for all the same reasons. It’s difficult to run one of these units, and it costs quite a bit of money. After all, you have to pay the crew, you have to pay for the sponsorship, and you have to buy goodies to give away, such as promotional products for all the people that come by your booth, or publicity trailer.

The trick to running one of these things is to have someone back at headquarters scheduling the events. Any time you’re driving from let’s say Denver to Los Angeles, you want to try to stop by as many places as possible along the route, hopefully closer to the freeway, and have permission to show up, give things away, explain about your products and services, and then load everything up and continue on your mission.

The strategy is to never have any downtime, and to always be displaying the brand name, even when you’re driving down the freeway and that means you always need a clean mobile PR unit. Indeed, hope to please consider all this.
