Awakening

Awakening is a term for a state of intense wellbeing and connection, which can be described as an experience of ‘flow’. It is similar to states of absorption such as meditation, but there are some key differences.

Knights Immortal – A race of ancient elves that aim to rid chaos from The Land, the Knights Immortal are a secondary faction that was introduced in the initial Rebellion release. They have two 2.0 subfactions, Free Armies and Temple Masters.

Solonavi – A fairly enigmatic race of energy creatures, they were originally introduced in the Sinister release as extremely powerful figures. They are still quite mysterious, though they seem to be strongly dedicated to protecting The Land from the Apocalypse.

They can be found in many parts of The Land, and their quests range from defending the Guild to attempting to prevent the Apocalypse from claiming an egg of the Apocalypse Dragon.
Pact Mages

Pact Mages are a type of warlock that have chosen to make a pact with the spirits of the realm. This allows them to access the spells of certain entities.

These mages can choose one of the six Pacts at character creation: Fey, Fiend, Great Old One, Celestial, Abyss or Carceri Storm. Each Pact has a number of variable factors that affect the development and abilities of the Warlock.

For example, a pact with a Fey would allow the Warlock to gain spells from the Faerie realm. However, a pact with an Abyss spirit could give the Mage access to spells that inflict chaos or destruction.

Generally, it is best to negotiate the terms of a Pact with the spirit. It could be a one-time favor/quest, or an extended period of service.

This is a high-risk way of getting a magic bond, and the disadvantage of this approach is that it is hard to tell if the spirit will keep the pact or renegotiate. In addition, a spirit will only do this if it feels like working with the mage.

A spirit will also need to feel that he is being treated with respect. If he does not, it is likely that he will be less inclined to cooperate with the Warlock in the future.
